Greg Watchinski – Principal
Mr. Gregory Watchinski became Principal at Carolina Springs Elementary in 2012. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Principal at CSE beginning in 2007 when the school first opened. Before coming to South Carolina and CSE, Mr. Watchinski worked in Indian Prairie School District 204 in Naperville, IL. He served from 2005-2007 as the Student Services Coordinator at Spring Brook Elementary. Prior to entering administration, Mr. Watchinski was in the classroom for eight years teaching 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Illinois Wesleyan University, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master’s Degree in Education Administration, both from Northern Illinois University.
Mrs. Jan Flynn joined the CSE family at the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year, having served previously as Assistant Principal at Gilbert Elementary School for seven years. Mrs. Flynn taught on the high school level for twelve years and on the elementary level for one year before becoming an administrator. She is a graduate of Gilbert High School in Lexington District One. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s Degree in Sport Management from the United States Sports Academy. She received certification in Elementary Administration from the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Flynn is currently certified in Physical Education (K-12), Elementary Principal, and Elementary Supervisor.
Todd Brown – Assistant Principal
. Todd Brown comes to CSES from the position of administrative assistant at Irmo Elementary School in District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties. He has 11 years of education experience and began his teaching career in 2001 as a special education teacher and coach at Gilbert Middle School in Lexington One. In 2008, he joined Barnwell County School District #45 as assistant principal at Barnwell Primary School. He moved to Irmo Elementary as administrative assistant in 2011.
Mr. Brown graduated from the College of Charleston with a bachelor’s degree in special education. He holds a master’s degree in sports science from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama, and a master’s degree in education administration from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. He is certified in special education, elementary administration and secondary administration.
