Greg Watchinski – Principal
Mr. Gregory Watchinski became Principal at Carolina Springs Elementary in 2012.  Prior to that, he served as Assistant Principal at CSE beginning in 2007 when the school first opened.  Before coming to South Carolina and CSE, Mr. Watchinski worked in Indian Prairie School District 204 in Naperville, IL.  He served from 2005-2007 as the Student Services Coordinator at Spring Brook Elementary.  Prior to entering administration, Mr. Watchinski was in the classroom for eight years teaching 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade.  He received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Illinois Wesleyan University, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master’s Degree in Education Administration, both from Northern Illinois University.

Sandy Cherry – Assistant Principal

Mrs. Sandy Cherry began her teaching career in 1990 at Lemira Elementary School in Sumter, South Carolina. Since then, she has taught all grade levels, kindergarten through fifth grade, in five states and two countries while a military spouse. She joined Lexington School District One in 2014 as a fourth-grade teacher at Saxe Gotha Elementary School where she received Teacher of the Year honors in 2015–2016.  She was an Assistant Administrator at Pelion Elementary School prior to moving to Carolina Springs Elementary School as an Assistant Principal.  Mrs. Cherry earned a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. She is currently certified in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Elementary Principal. Mrs. Cherry is also endorsed in Gifted and Talented Education and is a Read to Succeed endorsed literacy teacher. Mrs. Cherry and her family are sports enthusiasts who love the Gamecocks and the New England Patriots!

Tomeka Love – Assistant Principal

Mrs. Tomeka Love joins the Carolina Springs family, serving previously for 2 ½ years as the Assistant Principal, Staff Development Coordinator, and Coordinator of Federal Programs at Felton Laboratory Charter School, in Orangeburg, SC. In 2005, she began her career as School-Based Mental Health Counselor in Saluda School District. In 2006, she accepted the This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is t-love.png of School Counselor at Saluda Elementary School, and over the course of 10 years, Mrs. Love transitioned into additional roles: School Testing Coordinator, ESOL Coordinator, RTI and Behavior Interventionist Teacher. In 2014, Mrs.Love was named Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Love received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Francis Marion University, Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University, School Counseling Certification and Education Specialist Degree in Administration and Leadership from Clemson University. During the summer months, you will find the Love family traveling to AAU and USATF track meets, cheering on their daughter and nephew, who are both avid runners. As a family, the Love’s enjoy traveling and sports!
